| Anglo-Indian School, officer of a Grenadier Company, 28th Regiment of the Bengal Native Infantry, c. 1835. The water color on ivory, head-and-shoulders portrait depicts an officer with spectacles, wearing a scarlet coat with gold stand-up collar, a white shoulder belt with gold belt plate bearing the number "28", and a sword by his side. Imbossed brass mount set in black papier mache frame with acorn hanger. Rectangular, 10 cms. X 7 3/4 cms. (4 inches X 3 1/8 inches). Photographs demonstrate the glare from the glass; this miniature is in extremely fine condition with very bright colours. | ||||||
